Handweaving Fairs

One of the Swedish Weaving Council's main undertakings is arranging the Handweaving Fairs at different places round the country.  These fairs are now triennial events, attracting 5000-8000 visitors. Each consists of two parts, a commercial trade fair and a conference, with a theme that connects the two. Businesses and educational provisions linked to weaving are invited to the trade fair to present their products and the range offered. This could be anything from looms and weaving equipment, yarn and other materials, literature, to courses and training. The conference includes lectures, short courses, textile shows and excursions.  Each Handweaving Fair acquires local colour from its host venue.
